Peugeot 308 Forum access to veichle option disappear and automatic emergency braking disable itself

Hi, i noticed 2 strange thing:

1)when the engine is turned off, the smeg doesn't has the "veichle access" option, look:

but the option appears when i start the engine. is this normal?

2)sometimes, without no reason, the automatic emergency braking is disabled. i don't touch the option, so i don't understand why it disable itself on its own. Has someone experienced that?

First behaviour is normal.
The emergency branking system and adaptive cruise control disable itself if the LIDAR Sesor in the front bumper of the car has no clear sight. This happens sometimes in heavy snowfall. I only experienced it once so far.

Sorry, i didn't undesrtood. The manual didn't say anything about an automatic disabling of emergency braking system.
And the first behaviour is not normal, this is another screen from a different 308:

As you see, in this case there is the "Accesso al veicolo" option.

Yeah unfortunately it is not described in the manual.

Are you sure about the LIDAR sensor? Where do you read that? And what "LIDAR" means?
MoD1987 23.03.2015, 18:00
Yeah I am sure. LIDAR stands for Light Detection And Ranging and is the kind of system which controls the emergency braking and the adaptive cruise control. Problem is LIDAR actually needs to see what is in front of you. Radar based technology is not so sensitive and does not disable itself so fast for example in heavy snow. But LIDAR is much cheaper.

But today there was no snow, fog or rain, but the automatic braking systems disbled itself. How is that possible?

Ok I would say the system in your car does not work as it should. Something is not alright there. See your car dealer

but it happened only 1 times. And that daiy was rainy. The LIDAR sensor disable itself event if there is moderate rain? I read all manual pages, but i didn't find anything about the autodisabling of emergency braking.
